Working as a webcam model, either as a newbie or an experienced webcam model, there should be two main concerns. Firstly which site will give you the best earnings and secondly which webcam sites protect your identity and are concerned for your safety in general.

The vast majority of webcam models that have contacted me are almost always concerned about protecting their privacy. Some models are not worried about their pictures and private shows being posted in various places on the internet, as this will only help them to become more popular and well known, but for other webcam models this is a serious concern and a form of publicity that is NOT welcome.

In this article I would like to highlight the most trustworthy sites, which can 99.9 % guarantee protecting your privacy and identity (it would be an exaggeration to say any site can protect your identity and privacy 100%)

Which Website Should I Choose?

If the website DOES NOT ask for copies of either your passport, driving licence or other government issued ID, then DO NOT work for them at all. This ID is used to verify that webcam models are not underage (under 18) and is used for your own protection. Furthermore this information is NEVER given out to any third parties and is 100% safe.
Does the website have a “U.S.C2257 statement”, “Privacy Policy” and a “Contact Us” easily accessible on their website? If any of these are not present then alarm bells should start ringing, “Can I really trust this company when it comes to protecting my identity and privacy?” The major websites such as iFriends, LiveJasmin and Streamate all have the above.

Protecting Your Identity & Privacy

Nowadays most leading webcam sites offer the option to block all viewers from your state or even your country. This is usually a very reassuring measure working as a webcam models. Two recommended sites who take this one step further are Livejasmin and Streamate as they will give you multi options when it comes to blocking guests, members in your state or country and really take protecting your identity seriously. If in doubt contact the site directly for further reassurances.

When you are working never give out your personal information, this seems pretty obvious but you would be surprised how many models forget to adhere to this simple rule. This includes your address, even your city, your real name, email address etc. It would be a very sensible idea to create a “fake persona” with fake contact details and name with which you can freely give to your customers.

In the end it’s up to you to accept the risks involved in working as a webcam model. This work may be well paid, easy to do but your privacy can never be 100% guaranteed. Just make sure you weigh up the risks, choose your webcam site(s) wisely and you should be fine. I have never heard in my ten years experience of working in the webcam industry in one way or another of a cam model ever having been “found out” by friends or family or their identity being compromised either!

During the last month I have received several emails from models all asking the above question. They have all had requests in one form or another for customers asking them to pee in their private shows. So what would my advice be in this “sticky” (excuse the pun) situation!?

I’m sure your initial reaction to this request, will be shock and disgust. A completely natural reaction of course. BUT you should try and turn this situation around and use it to your advantage. Don’t just write off those customers who have strange requests, of varying degrees. Some will have foot fetishes, others will prefer to role play and some will prefer to see you do a number one and two (believe it or not!) on cam. So what should you do with these more kinky types of customers?

First of all you have to learn what you are comfortable with. Can you push your barriers? Of course some webcam websites will not allow you to pee on cam even if you wanted to! However if the website does allow you to pee, and you feel comfortable doing it, then why not? Just be warned though, they will usually ask you to drink it afterwards, so having a cup of apple juice in exactly the same cup as you pee’ed in can be a very useful little trick! If a customer wants to have a 30minute private show with you, when all you are doing is touching your feet and showing them close up on cam then what’s the harm!? In fact sometimes dealing with fetish customers is easier than the mainstream “sex” viewing type customers. In my and my model’s experience fetish customers are very loyal to models who cater for their tastes and they spend a lot of money on the few models who cater to their tastes!

Do your research! Find out what your regular and potential customers like and want. This can be as simple as a Google search or just sending a message out to your regular customers. What kind of fetishes are there? Well as mentioned before there are the guys who like to see you urinate and the odd few who want to see you shit. There are others who have hand and feet fetishes, i.e. they want to see your hands and feet close up to the cam and love to see you sucking them too. Then there are the guys who just love to role play, various roles. Some are into domination or opposingly humiliation. Do your research and try and find out what your customers like and you will definitely see a sharp increase in your private show sales!

Hi there, my name is Appleseeds and I work for Live Jasmin at the moment. I’m currently number one in their “69 team awards” and have found using toys has helped me a lot to achieve this position. I have been working as a webcam model for three years now and I would like to share with you my knowledge and experience about the best toys you can use as a cam model. Of course some models prefer not to use any toys at all, but I cannot recommend highly enough about the use of toys in your shows.

1. Firstly let’s take a look at the latest toys to be released onto the market. You may have heard of the “Rampant Rabbit” a two pronged toy that can be used in three different vibrating speeds as well as a variety of sizes to suit all tastes.  These are very realistic looking vibrators and both you and your customers will enjoy the additional atmosphere it brings to your shows.

2.  Another recent favourite of mine is the “Boundless Beauty Silicone Vibrator”.  This is made from the finest grade A silicone and it’s soft, supple and in tune with your body. It’s really hygienic which is very important when working as a cam model. The carefully designed contours along the length add texture and feeling.

3. If you prefer something smaller that can be used in both your vagina and ass comfortably, then why not try a bullet toy? These are only around 6cm in length but can be great for girls and guys who don’t wish to feel any discomfort.

As a general rule, any new toys that you purchase should be as high quality as your budget can afford.  If it’s a dildo or vibrator try and buy only high grade silicone toys. Poor quality toys not only don’t last very long, they can also irritate your genital areas, mouth etc leading to allergies and ultimately a loss in earnings due to you not being able to perform properly or not at all. Also make sure you find a toy that is not too big to give you pain and discomfort. Your customers will always want to see your biggest toy, so make sure that you are comfortable with whatever one you are using. You may want to “reserve” your biggest toy for those regular customers who bring you the largest percentage of your earnings only? Also bear in mind what colours and style your toy is going to be?  This is really down to your personal preference.

How to take care and maintain you toys? You should try and clean you toys every day after every working shift. Try and do this as a routine so you won’t even need to think about it after a while. Using  toy cleaning wipes are the best idea or feminine wipes can be used too. These can be bought at the same shop you purchased your toy or from any good pharmacy. Doing this is essential to maintain the hygiene of your toys and avoid any nasty infections or allergies.

Finally don’t forget it isn’t just toys that will make you stand out from an average webcam performer. Using sexy uniforms (see Top Webcam Modeling Tips – Different Outfits For Different Days, By Sydney Lavelle ), high heels, oils and lube are also a great idea to get your customers engaged and coming back for more and more!!

Just as working in any sex industry, it’s vitally important for webcam models to regularly check their health as well as adhering to strict hygiene guidelines. When you are working as a full time webcam model, which may include 7-8 hour daily shifts, you may well be using a variety of toys, lubes and your fingers. This can lead to the possibility of a variety of nasty bacterial infections in your genital regions and mouth. Read on to learn how to protect and prevent such infections!

The reality of getting such an infection is that you will not be able to work for at least a few days, possibly even a few weeks with a serious infection. Thus, seriously affecting your income. However sticking to a few simple rules can help avoid 99.9% of such infections.

Firstly, keep all your toys and hands as clean as possible. This may include in having an anti-bacterial hand gel, washing your hands after private shows etc. Try and clean your toys daily at the end of each shift, try and engrain it into part of your daily routine as a webcam model. Also to prevent any possible allergies try and buy only good quality toys that are manufactured out of high quality silicone, glass or wood (believe it or not!) rather than cheap plastic. It goes without saying that you shouldn’t put a toy that you have just put into your ass into your mouth or vagina either, but I have seen many models do this unfortunately.

As for lubricants, the same rules apply pretty much. Try not to buy cheap lubricants, as these are more likely to give you allergic rashes. Even though it may cost a little more, try and buy lubricants made from natural materials, such as organic coconut oil and water based lubricants. These are not only gentle and soothing for your skin but will avoid any unsightly rashes!

Your overall health is very important too. Clearly try and avoid drinking too much alcohol, smoking and taking drugs. This will not only have a detrimental effect on your looks but will lower your immune system, thus making you more prone to infections. To keep your figure lean and in shape, try and do some cardio exercise at least 4 – 5 times a week as well as having a balanced, low sugar and cabs diet. Try and avoid junk food as much as possible too! I know this may sound a lot, but if you are really serious about working as a webcam model these are the steps you need to take to reach the top 10% and so be earning over $2000 every week!

Finally try and keep the clothes that come into contact with your genital areas, such as thongs, panties etc as clean as possible. If you do suspect that you may have a vaginal or penile infection, such as slight burning sensation when you urinate, that is not serious enough to merit a visit to the doctor. It is recommended that you drink cranberry juice to remedy it. (However you must immediately seek medical treatment if it is an STD).

Remember a healthy mind and body are the key to being a productive, very good looking and ultimately successful webcam model!

1. Sydney Lavelle: “So how did you get into webcam modeling?”
DBB4U: “Well it all started just as a bit of fun when I was at college. I had just turned 18 and was always a bit of an exhibitionist, so I thought I would try cam modeling just for fun. What started out as a hobby soon turned out to be a full time job and a great money spinner!”
